Hilary, downgraded to Category 1, inches closer to Calif. border; "potentially historic rainfall" could still occur

Hurricane Hilary has weakened to a Tropical Storm, but Southern California continued to brace for its impact, which was expected to advance by afternoon. The rain early Sunday was falling across southern Orange County along the 5 Freeway from Anaheim to Mission Viejo down to San Diego.
