Charles ‘Kip’ Thieriot, cable TV head and great-grandson of Chronicle founder, dies

Just like his great grandfather, who founded The Chronicle, Charles “Kip” Thieriot was in love with the communications business. He was a member of the board of directors that ran the family-owned newspaper in the years before it was sold to the Hearst Corp.
